Gustav Möller, the Director and script co-writer of this intense thriller makes an impressive debut with “The Guilty”. The young Swede, who’s living in Denmark, has found inspiration for the film in a real US 911 call, he came across in YouTube. What he recalls from the video is: “I was gripped at how you could be just listening to a phone call for 20 minutes…That fascination became the starting point for the film.” Indeed, “The Guilty” is set in a single location – the emergency services dispatch center in Copenhagen, where the alarm dispatcher and former police officer Asger Holm (played by Jakob Cedergren) answers increasingly alarming calls from a kidnapped woman. In the course of the case he realizes that it’s a more severe crime then he expected.
