The Cave

THE CAVE is a Thai film that tells the story of the incredible rescue of the “Wild Boars” Soccer Team – 12 boys and their coach who in July 2018 casually set off to explore Tham Luang cave in northern Thailand and were inescapably trapped by sudden monsoon flood waters. Against all the odds, hastily assembled teams of heroic and selfless cave divers and responders rushed to the site from around the world and saved all the boys and coach after 9 days during which no one knew if they were alive or dead. THE CAVE delves into the deep spiritual and cultural resonance the event had on the Thai people, as well as on the millions worldwide transfixed to the story and hoping for a miracle.

Danish documentary nominated for an Oscar

" The last couple of days there been a lot of talk about which movies and people have been nominated for this year’s Oscars. The Academy has yet again been criticized for a lacking representation of women and people of color, even though these to a higher degree are behind some of the most successful and artistically interesting movies. But on the bright side, we can from a Danish perspective take pride in the nomination of ‘The Cave’ as best documentary. ‘The Cave’ is produced by Sigrid Dyekjær and directed by Feras Fayyad. If ‘The Cave’ win the award for best documentary it will be the 8th time that Denmark takes home an Oscar. "

A Cave of Hope

" Feras Fayyad’s latest movie ’Last Men in Aleppo’ gained great reviews from the press, was nominated for an Oscar and won the World Documentary Grand Jury Price at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Now Fayyad is back with another touching and current documentary ‘The Cave’. The film takes place in an underground hospital in the Syrian city Ghouta, which has been bombed to pieces and follows the pediatrician Dr. Amani, who manages the hospital on a daily basis despite horrible conditions. Fayyad himself couldn’t be present during the filming, since the city was under siege, but managed to direct his film crew from afar, which is just one example of the energy and will put into making ‘The Cave’. The movie will premiere in Danish cinemas the 9. of January 2020. "
