13-årige Honey er genert og lyver om sig selv og sin kaotiske familie og har i det hele taget svært ved at vise, hvem hun er i sin nye klasse. Hun er vild med at spille musik – og er rigtig god – det er der bare ingen der ved. Allerhelst vil Honey bare gerne have en plads i Liams band Fuld Smadder, så da hun finder ud af at hendes døde, musikglade morfar Marcel måske slet ikke er død, beslutter hun sig for at finde ham. Måske er han lige præcis dét, hun har brug for, så hun kan lære at stå op for sig selv.

Honey has just started in a new class, and she does everything she can to join the school band and get a little closer to the boy Liam, whom she's in love with. Her family is totally chaotic, and Honey tries to help everyone as best as she can. When Honey suddenly discovers that the grandfather she thought was dead is actually alive and in a nursing home just outside town, she contacts him without telling her mother. And maybe Honey's rebellious grandfather is exactly what Honey needs to learn to stand up for herself."
